Doppler Weather Radar

The ADWR-X radar is the first new generation terminal Doppler weather radar in Canada specially designed for airports. With the coherent system, it can detect microburst and very low altitude wind shear which are the major threats to the safety of the aircrafts during takeoff and landing. It can also track and monitor wind movement, precipitation and other hazardous weather conditions within the monitored airspace and make prompt forecast, provide solid meteorological support for air safety.
